ScamGator safety guides
Privacy and safe sharing on ScamGator
Screenshot previews and blackouts
You can paste or choose a screenshot and optionally black out private details in your browser. Only the final flattened preview is sent to OpenAI when you submit it for analysis. ScamGator does not save screenshots, and only a redacted text version may be published after you review it and explicitly approve it. Review the full preview carefully before submitting.
Before using the AI checker
Remove names, phone numbers, email addresses, account details, passwords and verification codes. Replace them with labels such as [name] or [account]. Message text submitted for analysis is sent to OpenAI. ScamGator does not save the message text submitted for analysis.
Optional public examples
If you choose to share an example, inspect the redacted preview carefully before approving publication. Automated redaction can miss information. Approved examples become public community posts; do not include anything you need to keep private.
Accounts and technical records
Community registration collects the account information requested in the registration form. The site uses sessions and usage records to support accounts and enforce checker limits. Web hosting and service providers may process technical request information.
Privacy questions
Contact admin@scamgator.com with the relevant page URL. Avoid sending sensitive details by email.
Optional email subscriptions
Blog emails and community notifications are separate, optional choices. Blog signups require email confirmation. The blog subscription service privately stores your email address, confirmation status and delivery history, and uses short-lived request limits to prevent abuse. Your address is not published or sold. Article emails contain a link to stop blog emails. Community alerts use your account notification preferences, where you can choose categories and stop alerts independently. No existing members are automatically enrolled in blog emails.
